Stalker certainly isn't a franchise that screams tower defense. What no one seems to realize is that while MNC may be the flashiest entry to the first and third person action shooter tower defense genre (an impermanent name, I hope), it has a strange, unsuccessful predecessor in the form of GSC Game World's Stalker: Clear Sky. Here and there, mods and lesser-known indie games pop up that attempt to do what Monday Night Combat is doing. The former is a new, exciting genre, whose early successes have been mostly relegated to the realm of RTSs, from League of Legends to Demigod. Was Just one of many titles featured at the Showcase.Uber Entertainment's new XBLA title Monday Night Combat is set to introduce the shooter to the Defense of The Ancients-inspired Tower Defense genre in a big way. This will presumably help the team to make each and every character be unique. We see teeth removed, added, and altered. One of the more peculiar portions of this preview was the introduction to the Teeth Tool, which allows the developers to fine tune every detail of a character’s face model, down to the teeth.
The lighting puts an emphasis to the smaller details and little imperfections on each weapon. We see a shotgun, LMG, submachine gun, sniper rifle, and an assault rifle. This video also provides some fly-by shots of the new weapons that will show up in STALKER 2. In addition to gas masks, these characters also sport military gear and some powerful weapons. As for characters, we see the models of Duty and Freedom faction members. However, we get a new look at the different character and weapon models that will be included in the game. In the video, the developers give a brief update on STALKER 2’s development, stating that the game is still a ways away. Though there wasn’t any new gameplay shown, we got a look at the new weapon and character models that will be featured in STALKER 2. During the broadcast, we got a look at STALKER 2, the long-awaited sequel to the post-apocalyptic FPS game. The March Showcase put the spotlight on all of the indie titles coming to Xbox in the future.
